Quenya and Dorman - November 30th, 2009
(sorry it's blurry - a special moment I was lucky to snap with my cell-phone)
Late November 2009 Quenya developed pyometra - a serious infection of the uterus that has virtually no symptoms. Most often, it is fatal.
We were very lucky to have caught it when we did... I just felt something "wasn't right" and took her to my vet... within hours it would have too late.
Treatment required her to be rushed for an emergency spay and placed on antibiotics for several weeks. It was a terrifying experience and we are so fortunate we were able to save her.
She is now enjoying her retirement as our spoiled pet, as usual.
As you can see above, Quenya has never been happier or more content.
(photo taken five days after returning home from the ICU)
We are blessed to have her in our lives and are so thankful she has given us a beautiful puppy to ensure her wonderful disposition and exceptional qualities will continue in our breeding program.
